‘Ghetto’ pistol mag loader modification for BDM .22lr magazines

    August 3rd

As 5.56mm ammunition prices have more than doubled over the past couple of years like the price of gas, and don’t seem to be going down anytime soon, I’ve been shooting a dedicated .22lr upper on my AR-15 lowers for plinking, close-range (less than 25 yards) drills and practice, and just plain fun. I use the BDM (Black Dog Machine) magazine. It holds 27 rounds of .22lr and comes in skinny and full size. I use the full size which looks like a regular 30-round magazine and fits into 30-round mag pouches. My only gripe with the BDM mag is that it’s hard to load, once you get past 15 round or so. You have to push each round down with the one you’re trying to insert, and it’s not easy with the curvature of the .22lr case. The result: sore and tired fingers. So I made my own ‘Ghetto’ thumb loader.

    EMDOM USA/MM Gunslinger Sling

    August 3rd

Ever since EMDOM USA and I introduced the URS (Universal Rig Strap) Sling two years ago, I’ve had numerous requests and inquiries from URS Sling users for a single or two-point sling that was compatible with the connector that the URS uses. The connector attaches to the receiver end plate, or to a swivel at the rear of the stock, and uses a female SR buckle. As far as I know, it’s not compatible with any other sling. URS users wanted a sling that could be attached to the URS connector for stand-alone use, when not using a rig. In response to those requests, EMDOM is now offering a sling that URS users can use without having to remove the connector from their weapon. It’s called the Gunslinger Sling.

Aimpoint CompM4 and LaRue QD Mounts LT65X

    July 26th

Aimpoint’s CompM4 Red Dot Sight is the latest CCO (Close Combat Optic) adopted by the U.S. Army, beating out its competitors in the Army’s competition for a new CCO to replace the CompM2. The CompM4 is even more rugged than its predecessors, and has a battery life that pretty much eliminates battery life as an issue.

LaRue Tactical LT-690 FUG (Forward Universal Grip)

    July 12th

Ever since a TangoDown vertical grip mated to a LaRue locking lever mount was spied in some of MFingar’s (LaRue’s photographer extraordinaire) photos, LaRue has been under constant urging to offer something like that. Bowing to the pressure, LaRue Tactical has come out with their FUG (Forward Universal Grip) which is a vertical grip based around their renowned adjustable locking lever mount. It comes with three different end caps to give the user a choice of three different configurations to suit their shooting style.
