The Kifaru OTW (Outside The Wire) is a “Go Bag” intended primarily for military and law enforcement personnel who might need a bag for fighting out of on the move. A prototype debuted at the 2010 SHOT show and after months of input and testing from guys in the field, it was finally introduced. Unlike other ‘go bags’ currently offered, the OTW has no zippered openings or flaps to deal with. One-handed opening and closing feature allows the user to have instant access to the main compartment’s contents.
Two of the latest mounts for the Aimpoint Micro sights from LaRue Tactical are the Absolute Co-witness Micro Mount LT-751 and the Angled QD LT-724 mount. The LT-751 places the Micro at the correct height above the flat top receiver to center it in the iron sights. The LT-724 puts the Micro at an offset so that it can be mounted in front of a magnified optic, and used by canting the rifle over a few degrees for rapid transition to close-range targets.
The SureFire Scout Mounts from Gear Sector are offset light mounts designed specifically for the popular SureFire Scout series of weapon lights, enabling the user to install them in one of eight different positions on a rail for optimal positioning. This allows the user to better tailor their setup to suit their individual shooting style.
The Lowa Uplander Desert Boot is a new addition to the Task Force line, and the replacement for the Lowa Seeker Desert PT Boot reviewed previously. The Seeker Desert PT is still one of my favourite all-around boots, and I was disappointed to see them discontinued. I’m glad to say that its replacement, the Uplander Desert, is an improvement on the original.
