Posted in EQUIPMENT, Emdom, Emergency/medical, MANUFACTURER SECTIONS on February 21st, 2010 by Militarymoron

The EMDOM USA/MM Dragster Strap is designed to be an ultra compact emergency drag/utility strap that would be worn on a rigger’s belt or vest. Carried in it’s own pouch, along with carabiners or snap links (not included), the Dragster Strap is compact enough to be carried by anyone, and can be accessed at a moment’s notice.

EMDOM-MM CM Duty Belt

Posted in 1st Line, EQUIPMENT, Emdom on November 4th, 2009 by Militarymoron

The EMDOM USA-MM CM Belt is a duty/load bearing belt designed to be used in conjunction with the EMDOM Battle Suspenders or as a stand-alone duty belt. It is low profile, light weight yet rigid, and available in 7 different colours.

‘CM’ stands for ‘Cingulum Militare’, which is Latin for the military belt that the warriors of ancient Rome hung their sword and dagger from. The EMDOM CM belt stemmed from a desire to make a MultiCam duty belt that was compatible with MOLLE or pouches for 2″ belts. Not a rigger’s belt, mind you – just a duty belt. We also wanted to supplement the Battle Suspenders with a belt that worked well with them. I’ve found that when worn with suspenders, a padded belt or belt sleeve isn’t always necessary, and that a light weight rigid belt can still be very comfortable, but with less bulk.

EMDOM-MM CBDU (Contractor BDU)

Posted in Clothes, Emdom, GEAR, HIGH PERFORMANCE CLOTHING (NON-MILITARY), MILITARY CLOTHING (NON-UNIFORM), MILITARY UNIFORMS / CLOTHING on July 25th, 2009 by Militarymoron

This is the CBDU (Contractor BDU) from EMDOM USA. It’s a limited-run custom modified BDU shirt and pant that was originally designed as an enhanced BDU for private military contractors, or anyone else that can make use of its practical features.

This project actually started in December 2006, when Ken from EMDOM asked me if I had any ideas for modified BDUs. ‘Custom/enhanced’ BDUs have become more commonplace now; back then all you had were BDUs that you took to the tailor to modify. Most of the BDUs were geared towards the military; less so for the civilian or PMC. Since PMCs can’t wear camouflage, and some civvies dislike wearing camo to tactical classes etc, there were some modifications that I had in mind that I thought would be practical, and that I could make use of on the range while running around. So, while these BDUs can be worn by anyone who can use its features, we always referred to them as the ‘Contractor BDUs’, so the name stuck. The main goal was to provide practicality, additional elbow and knee protection, comfort and load bearing capability over the standard BDU without a noticeable increase in weight.

EMDOM-MM Patch

Posted in Camo, Emdom, MISCELLANEOUS on June 27th, 2009 by Militarymoron

Featuring the Andrew Bawidamann MM skull design, the EMDOM/MM patch has a dark OD background, with lighter OD border and arrows. Depending on how the light hits the patch, the skull and arrows will alternately look light or dark as the direction they’re embroidered are at right angles to each other, producing quite a cool effect. The gothic ‘MM’ letters and arrow outline are coyote, and the skull is grey. This colour combo goes very well with most colours, like MultiCam, foliage green, grey, coyote, khaki, OD green etc.

The EMDOM USA/MM Dump Pouch is a medium sized, non-folding dump pouch designed for the user who needs a dedicated spent mag or utility dump pouch without the need to fold it up.

For the past 5 years, I’ve been using my original Reccegear/MM Dump pouch in MultiCam or MAXPEDITION Rollypoly (MM Folding Dump Pouch) on all my rigs and they’ve served me extremely well. The only complaint I had with the Rollypoly was that it was never available in Crye MultiCam. It’d often be the only thing that wasn’t in MultiCam on my rigs. I’d asked MAXPEDITION for years to make them in MultiCam, but they never did. So, out of desperation, and not wanting to knock off my own design, I got together with Ken at EMDOM USA with a new design that wasn’t intended to compete with folding dump pouches. I found that I always left my RollyPoly in the unfolded configuration on my rigs, so this time around, I decided to come up with a non-folding dump pouch. Available in MultiCam of course.

EMDOM USA Vehicle Hydration Carrier

Posted in EQUIPMENT, Emdom, Packs on January 14th, 2009 by Militarymoron

The EMDOM Vehicle Hydration Carrier (VHC) is a shorter, wider version of the EMDOM H2O hydration carrier shown above. It is designed primarily for vehicle drivers and operators who prefer a shorter hydration carrier. Being shorter and wider, the bottom of the VHC does not touch the seat when sitting, so it eliminates the problem with the armor being pushed up by an attached hydration carrier when seated. A shorter hydration carrier also allows the user to carry a bigger fanny pack or pouches at the center of the back at the waist on the belt with less interference from a hydration carrier. Mil-spec webbing, materials, zippers and ITW IRR Ghillietex hardware is used throughout. The VHC carrier is available in MultiCam, ACU, Coyoteish, Sewer Green, Foliage Green, and Black.

EMDOM USA/MM TNT (Tactical/Non-Tactical) Bag

Posted in EQUIPMENT, Emdom, Packs on October 20th, 2008 by Militarymoron

I’m proud to introduce my latest collaboration with EMDOM USA, the TNT (Tactical/Non-Tactical) Bag. This project started back in mid 2007, when I expressed my desire to Ken at EMDOM to design a bag that is practical enough for EDC (Every Day Carry) use, doesn’t look overtly ‘tactical’, but still has some gun-friendly/tactical features concealed internally. I have seen most of the ‘messenger/Spartan/tactical man-purse, patrol, tactical briefcase, bail-out bags’ out there; and there are some very good designs to fit a variety of needs. But, none of them were matched exactly what I had in mind, so I set about thinking and sketching up a design.

EMDOM USA/MM Gunslinger Sling

Posted in AR, Emdom, MANUFACTURER SECTIONS, WEAPONS, slings on August 3rd, 2008 by Militarymoron

Ever since EMDOM USA and I introduced the URS (Universal Rig Strap) Sling two years ago, I’ve had numerous requests and inquiries from URS Sling users for a single or two-point sling that was compatible with the connector that the URS uses. The connector attaches to the receiver end plate, or to a swivel at the rear of the stock, and uses a female SR buckle. As far as I know, it’s not compatible with any other sling. URS users wanted a sling that could be attached to the URS connector for stand-alone use, when not using a rig. In response to those requests, EMDOM is now offering a sling that URS users can use without having to remove the connector from their weapon. It’s called the Gunslinger Sling.
