For 2011, the new Stealth Hoodie LT from Triple Aught Design (TAD) incorporates a completely new textile composition to make it one of TAD’s most versatile Stealths yet. It is a three-layer system custom-engineered with Swiss-made Schoeller® textiles and treatments. The ‘LT’ designation indicates that it is an uninsulated version of the Stealth; suitable for stand-alone use in warmer weather.
The latest evolution of the popular Force 10 Cargo pant from Triple Aught Design is the Force 10 Cargo Pant in NYCO Ripstop. This latest incarnation offers increased durability (over the previous 100% cotton ripstop version), more organization capability, and an updated fit.
Following in the footsteps of the Predator and Raptor, the Spectre HS is Triple Aught Design’s newest hardshell offering. While the Raptor ProLite Hardshell Jacket was designed primarily as a lighter and more packable version of their popular Predator Hardshell for backpacking and mountaineering; the Spectre is more similar to the Predator, which was intended as fully featured tactical hard shell with all the bells and whistles. Constructed of a heavier-duty 3-layer waterproof breathable fabric from GE’s eVent Professional Line Division, the Spectre is loaded with all the distinctive features that defined TAD’s jackets.
The Explorer Jacket is a new soft shell jacket from TAD (Triple Aught Design), and is a departure from their Stealth Hoodie line, as it doesn’t have a hood, and is designed to be a non ‘tactical’ looking jacket that won’t attract undue attention in public. For those who have been wanting a TAD Gear Soft Shell jacket without a hood, this would be it.
One of TAD Gear’s latest releases is a softshell version of their popular Force 10 Cargo Utilities; the Force 10 Softshell Utility Cargos. Following a similar format to their Force 10′s, the Softshell offers the same utility in a more streamlined package; taking advantage of the stretch material properties, while offering near water-proof protection against the wet.
The Spectre Hoodie LRP MultiCam (now sold out) is Triple Aught Design’s (TAD Gear) ‘flagship’ U.S.-made softshell, with more pockets and volume than their Stealth Hoodie Reloaded. Designed as a robust softshell for protracted field use encountered in Long Range Patrol (hence the “LRP” designation); the Crye MultiCam version of the Spectre is a limited edition of one run only, and will not be available again. It’s TAD Gear’s first and last MultiCam softshell (as of this writing), due to the high cost of developing and manufacturing the soft shell fabric in MultiCam . The MultiCam Spectre differs from the solid colour Spectres by its material – it’s thicker and warmer, and suited for colder weather, or as a stand-alone jacket instead of a light shell + mid insulating layer. It is designed for aerobic activity with breathability taking precedence over water resistance.
