Battle Arms Development – Ambidextrous Safety Selector

Posted in AR, Access, WEAPONS on May 30th, 2010 by Militarymoron

After more than a year of development, testing and refinement, the Battle Arms Development – Ambidextrous Safety Selector (or ‘BAD-ASS’) has finally been released, which is very exciting for me as a left-handed user of the AR-15. The BAD-ASS is user-configurable and addresses the issue of lever interference with the trigger hand when rotating the lever from ’safe’ to ‘fire’. The BAD-ASS is designed for both left and right handed shooters who believe that ambidextrous controls on a weapon are an advantage, and allow the user to operate the weapon as efficiently as possible no matter which side they’re firing from.

Hammerhead Rifle Tool

Posted in AR, Access, WEAPONS on April 21st, 2010 by Militarymoron

Many of us who tinker with the AR-15/M4 family of weapons have dealt with difficult castle nut removal when changing out the retractable stock receiver extension/buffer tube. The HammerHead Rifle Tool is a multi-purpose tool designed primarily as an M4/AR-15 carbine castle nut wrench, which makes that job a whole lot easier. It comes in two variants – and armourer’s model made of 1095 steel and a lightweight field deployment model made of 6AL-4V titanium.

The BAD-T1/’The Armorer’ from Battle Arms Development (B.A.D.) is an ingeniously-designed, unique multi-purpose tool and precision ordnance gauge designed for the M1A/M-14 type rifle, and the M1 Garand. It isn’t a general multi-use tool, but one with specialized functions unique to the M1A family of weapons, that replaces a host of weapon-specific tools. This is the first time M14 gauges and tools have been combined into one multi-functional tool, which should make M1A owners, armorers and enthusiasts very excited.

TangoDown 20-Round ARC Magazine

Posted in AR, Access, WEAPONS on June 12th, 2009 by Militarymoron

The ARC (Advanced Reliability Combat) Magazine from TangoDown is now offered in 20-round capacity. Why 20 rounds? Some folk prefer to use the 20 round magazine for its lower profile, so they can get closer to the ground when using a bipod, instead of being limited by the 30-round magazine sticking out the bottom.
